Benefits, Leaves and Retirement

The Office of Benefits, Leaves, & Retirement is part of the Department of Human Resources Operations within the Division of Human Resources, and is responsible for developing and administering high-quality, competitive employee benefits that enable the school system to maintain and recruit a quality workforce. 
 
The Office of Benefits, Leaves, & Retirement:
•Administers all benefit plans for employees and retirees
•Administers open enrollment and handles all election changes
•Processes all qualifying life change enrollments
•Maintains an Employee Wellness program
•Promotes an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
•Administers COBRA enrollment and billing
•Conducts new hire Benefits and Badges sessions
•Assists with the processing of enrollment into the retirement plans
•Assists with the processing of retirement from Baltimore County Public Schools
•Administers HR- and Board of Education-approved leaves of absences
