REPORTING FIRE OR THEFT

Step 1: IMMEDIATELY CALL 9-911

Step 2: Call Security at 809-6488

Step 3: Call the appropriate worksite representative who will submit the property loss/damage reporting form to the Office of Employee Absence and Risk Management, OEARM.  

 

How to Report Property Loss/Damage
To assure the proper handling and reporting of potential claims, expedite immediate loss investigation and determine an accurate accounting of our property loss, all property loss and damage is to be recorded on the Property Loss/Damage Reporting Form and sent within 24 hours to the OEARM.

 

LOSSES THAT SHOULD BE REPORTED

Property Loss/Damage is also to be reported within 24 hours if it involves:

  • BCPS property (playground equipment, computers, musical instruments, windows, etc.)
  • Personal property of employees brought to work to be used as an adjunct to employment (instructional materials, tools, items damaged during an assault, etc. See the applicable Master Agreement details)
  • Personal property of students in BCPS care, custody or control (musical instruments, medication, etc.)
  • Personal property of a third party (e.g. damage to property of a member of the public including vehicles, windows, etc.)
