Certification Cohorts

The Board of Education approved nine (9) certification cohort programs which are scheduled to begin Fall 2022.  Programs include the following subject areas: Secondary Mathematics, Secondary English, Special Education- Elementary and Special Education – Secondary.  Several programs have been modified to include additional content areas and later Fall semester start dates. Programs offered by each university partner are listed below.  Please see Certification Cohort FAQs for additional information regarding certification cohorts.

Cohort participants would include Conditional teachers contracted with BCPS starting school year 2022-2023.  Individuals enrolled in these certification programs will be required to teach full-time while completing courses required to achieve MSDE certification.  Interested participants must first apply for a teaching position by submitting an application.
